The three tools, without the tangle

Calendar

{mono}CalDAV{/}. Invite, share, and sync on any client — it doesn't need the Google app to exist.

Mail

{mono}SMTP/IMAP{/} open. Your domain, your inbox, whichever client you already prefer.

Drive

{mono}WebDAV{/} and {mono}WOPI{/}. Files you can open anywhere, and edit in Office apps — with your own Collabora server if you want it.

The questions that stall a migration

Will I lose my email history?

No. We kept ours intact — around 15,000 messages per mailbox — and the import runs behind the cutover, not instead of it.

Can I keep Outlook, Apple Mail, or the app I already use?

Yes. IMAP and CalDAV talk to any client. What changes is the server, not your app.

What do I actually give up?

The long tail. You won't find the obscure Gmail feature shipped back in 2011. You'll find what everyone uses daily: receive, search, send; create, invite, respond; upload, edit.

Have you done this for other companies?

Honestly — not yet. We did it for ourselves, mailbox by mailbox. What's proven is the mechanism and five real mailboxes with years of history; your move is where it gets tested at your scale.
